Many will surely remember that last year, aged an impressive 96, Marcel Remy repeated a two-pitch 6a in Switzerland. Two years earlier, the father of the famous alpinists Yves and Claude Remy decided he wanted to repeat the NW Face of Miroir de l’Argentine, one of the largest limestone slabs in the country. The 12-pitch outing was climbed on 22 August, past technical difficulties up to 5b+ by combing the Normal route, Vire Inférieure and the Directe route to the summit. Just as difficult though was the long approach and arduous descent. This was made faster with a tandem paraglide at the end of the day. Aged 94! Chapeau.
