La Ligne Géant highline between Dent du Géant - Mont Mallet

An extremely talented group of circa 15 slackliners has completed what it has described as being “arguably the most complex and uncertain line ever done.” Rigged at an altitude of about 4000m between the emblematic Dent du Géant and Mont Mallet in the Mont Blanc massif, this nigh 800m highline was set up over a period of 5 days last week and has been called La Ligne Géant.
On a shared post, slackliner and mountain guide Danny Mensik stated the following “The dream project, a visionary line is no longer a project. After years of imagination, planning, and waiting for the right moment, this year, this week the stara aligned, the team of genuinely passionate people came together, and against all odds, it did happen.
There were many doubts and question marks in the course of the whole thing but thanks to an amazing teamwork and collective strength both mental and physical we overcame them all. Aesthetics is the most important driving force of my motivation for slacklining.
Regardless of the dimensions and parameters of this line, it is one of the most appealing lines I have ever seen, a true eye-catching natural land art immediately recognizable by a slackliner’s sight. The combination of aesthetics and magnitude of this line is absolutely extraordinary.
It’s not the longest line, nor is it the highest line, but given the nature of the environment, difficulty of access, altitude, weather, dimensions, and permission, it’s arguably the most complex and uncertain line ever done.”
Planetmountain will endeavour to find out more in the near future.
