Coconut Connection: the Italian-Belgian climbing expedition to Canada's Baffin Island
The video of the 2016 Italian-Belgian expedition to the Stewart valley on Baffin Island in Canada comprised of Matteo Della Bordella, Matteo De Zaiacomo, Luca Schiera, Nicolas Favresse and Sean Villanueva.
In June 2016, the Italian Ragni di Lecco climbers Luca Schiera, Matteo De Zaiacomo, and Matteo Della Bordella, along with Belgian champions Nico Favresse and Sean Villanueva, set off on a two-month, completely independent expedition to Baffin Island.
After 180 km of skis, the five reached Sam Ford Fiord, where they climbed five new routes on the impressive Great Sail Peak. The return journey, completed by inflatable boats and on foot, took eight days, crossing fjord waters and expanses of tundra.
The film "Coconut Connection," directed by Sean Villanueva, captures this extraordinary experience, including giant rock faces, hard work, great team spirit, and... a healthy dose of madness and self-irony!
