Chasing Shadows: Benjamin Védrines' compelling climb on K2

The film Chasing Shadows tells the compelling journey of Benjamin Védrines on K2. After an initial attempt where tragedy was narrowly avoided, Védrines is more determined than ever to achieve an extraordinary feat: climb the world's second highest mountain in a single day, without supplementary oxygen, and fly down by paraglider.

After setting off from Advanced Base Camp, on 28 July 2024  Benjamin Védrines climbed K2 without supplementary oxygen in just 11 hours. The 32-year-old French alpinist took things one stage further still, and descended quickly by paragliding off the summit. The line between success and failure is thin, especially at high altitude and his extraordinary feat came about after a first attempt almost ended in complete tragedy two years previously.

Directed by David Arnaud and Hugo Clouzeau Durée, the film Chasing Shadows recounts this compelling journey on the second highest mountain in the world.
