86-year-old Spanish mountaineer Carlos Soria has summited manaslu (8163m) in Nepal. In doing so he has become the oldest person to climb an 8000er.

The record-breaking speed ascent of manaslu, achieved on 19 September 2024, by American mountain runner Tyler Andrews who set the fastest known time of just 9 hours and 52 minutes to the 8163m high main summit.
