Tardivel and Janody, new descent off Mt. Arcalod in France

Pierre Tardivel has exploring his mountains and steep ski descents since 1980 and last Thursday, together with his habitual ski partner Jérémy Janody, he descended a new line down the East Face of Mount Arcalod located in the French Bauges massif. Towards the end of the descent the two Mountain Guides were forced to make a short abseil and descent, graded 5.2/E4, 40/45° has been called Les Jardins de Jano.

In 2000 Tardivel established the descent Voie Floriane on the same face, while in 2006 together with Janody and Eric Daumas he skied down Voie Floriane directe.
