The 35th International Outdoor Sport Festival took place from 28 June to 2 July in the small village of Kemaliye in Central-Eastern Turkey, on the banks of the beautiful limestone canyon formed by the river Euphrates.

In April 2012 Robert Jasper, Jörn Heller and Ralf Gantzhorn carried out the first ascent of the Shark's Fin Ridge. The route climbs the west face of Monte Giordano (1517m, chile), a mountain which in all likelihood has never been climbed previously.

In February and March 2012 Spanish alpinist Silvia Vidal established the Espiadimonis (A4/6b, 1500m) up Serrania Avalancha in Chilean Patagonia.
