Sonia Livanos, goodbye to a great alpinist and woman French alpinist Sonia Livanos passed away on 15 April 2018 in Marseilles hospital at the age of 95. In the '50s and' 60s together with her husband Georges Livanos she formed one of the strongest climbing partnerships in the Dolomites and beyond.

Caroline Ciavaldini makes first female ascent of The Quarryman in Wales France's Caroline Ciavaldini has made the long-awaited first female ascent of The Quarryman in the slate quarries above Llanberris in North Wales. First ascended by Johnny Dawes back in 1986, this climb is one of the most famous multi-pitch rock climbs in Great Britain.
