Andrzej Bargiel completes historic first ski descent of K2 On 22 July 2018 30-year-old Polish alpinist Andrzej Bargiel made the coveted historic first ski descent of K2, skiing directly off the 8611m high summit of the second highest mountain in the world.

Laila Peak first integral ski descent by Carole Chambaret, Tiphaine Duperier and Boris Langenstein French skiers Carole Chambaret, Tiphaine Duperier and Boris Langenstein have made the coveted first ski descent from the summit of Laila Peak (6096m) in the Karakorum, Pakistan. A few days later Italy’s Cala Cimenti and Switzerland’s Matthias Koenig made the second descent of the stunning NW Face from the summit.

fredrik ericsson, fatal accident on K2 On 6 August fredrik ericsson fell to his death from the Bottleneck on K2. The Swedish alpinist was climbing with Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner from Austria who descended safely to Base Camp. Kaltenbrunner's husband Ralf Dujmovit provides the details about the accident.
