McConkey, final days at The Space Cinema

After the success of the first night on 25 November, today and tomorrow the screenings continue to remember Canadian ski and BASE jumping champion Shane McConkey.

If you missed the screening yesterday, it's worth noting that tonight and tomorrow night all The Space Cinemas will screen the documentary about ace Canadian ski and BASE jumping champion Shane McConkey.

The film was supported by his wife Sherry and produced by Red Bull Media House in association with Matchstick Productions, and has received critical acclaim at the New York Tribeca Film Festival and the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain. It addition it was sold out the national premieres in Annecy, London, Moscow and during an amazing American tour which started in front of thousands of fans in Squaw Valley (California, USA).



Born in Canada in 1969, Shane McConkey is considered a pioneer of freeskiing and ski-BASE jumping and is remembered by all for his outgoing and out-of-the-ordinary approach. Son of Jim McConkey, one of the pioneers of extreme skiing, Shane distinguished himself by participating in numerous extreme skiing films and for having invented ski-BASE jumping. And also for having contributed through his ideas in revolutionising modern skiing. On 2 April 2011 Shane McConkey was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. In 2009 Shane died prematurely in a tragic accident at Sasso Pordoi in the Dolomites.

Proceeds from McConkey will go to Shane’s family.
