Serre Chevalier - International Master

Serre Chevalier celebrated its tenth anniversary this year with a magnificent victory by Cristian Brenna
Serre Chevalier celebrated its tenth anniversary this year with a magnificent victory by Cristian Brenna, the only athlete to complete the 8b+ work-out route. David Caude and Ovchinnikov followed in 2nd and 3rd place, while 5 times winner François Legrand failed to reach the final. Muriel Sarkany, shrugging off the agonies of the day before (a far too long reach in the semi-final stopped her progress significantly ), climbed higher than the rest to gain a merited victory, ahead of Stephanie Bodet and Marietta Uhden.

Notable exceptions to this year's thrilling and excellently organised event were Liv Sansoz and Katie Brown, due to slight injuries inflicted during the X-Games bouldering competition, and the Italian Cristian Core who, after winning two competitions, seems to have set his sights firmly on the Bouldering World Cup.
