The XX Mezzalama Trophy got underway this morning at 5:30am sharp to make the most of the small weather window and anticipate the forecasted bad weather. The 286 teams from 22 different countries set off from Gressoney la Trinité (1637 m.) towards Cervinia, with the race direction inverted to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn. The live streaming will be online from 9:15 - 11:15 and the best are expected to complete the grueling course in under 5 hours.
