Early last week 136 athletes travelled east, from Chongqing towards China’s former capital Nanjing to compete in the third stage of the Bouldering World Cup which, so far, has resulted in some surprise early exclusions: current #1 Aleksei Rubtsov failed to qualify, along with his teammates Rustam Gelmanov and Dimitrii Sharafutdinov, and other top names such as Domen Skofic, Jakob Schubert, Martin Stranik ande Michael Piccolruaz. Things ran according to plan in the women’s qualifiers, which had to be postponed for three hours due to the stifling heat. The Finals will be streamed live at 12:30 Central European Time, while the second stage of the Speed World Cup will be streamed at 9:00 am.
