Only mad dogs and Englishmen. The saying continues with "go out in the noonday sun". In this case though it would be more apt to finish with "climb in the midday rain", since this is exactly what the British climbers Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker tried to do when they recently attempted to repeat The Recovery Drink on the Profile Wall in Jøssingfjord, Norway.

Freed by Nicolas Favresse in 2013, this immaculate overhanging line has been hailed as one of the hardest crack climbs in the world. Aftre 3 sessions in freezing cold and rain the Brits had to leave empty-handed, but they will no doubt return soon for what Randall has described, in no uncertain terms, as "One of the best in the world!"
