Silvio Reffo has clinched the third ascent of Back Road, a 9a above Rovereto close to Arco in Northern Italy freed by Adam Ondra in May 2014 and repeated by Gabriele Moroni a month later. The route has a 7c+/8a start followed by an intense boulder problem on tiny, sharp holds.

Reffo’s redpoint came out of the blue, as he himself explains "I really surprised myself with this ascent. I’d tried it a bit last year without getting close, last Thursday I returned for the first time this year and after a couple of attempts I suddenly found myself clipping the anchors, in sheer disbelief.
