As predicted, after climbing her first 9a at the end of December Slovenia’s aanja Garnbret continued unstoppably and quickly reappointed her second 9a. The route in question is Fabela pa la enmienda at Santa Linya in Spain, the very same route climbed by team member Mina Markovič in 2015. Prior to heading home, the 18-year-old also ticked the 8c+ Blomu.

At the same crag Austria’s Jakob Schubert made short work of Catxasa. This 9a+ seals a fine holiday for the 27-year-old who sent Stoking the Fire, his third 9b, last week.
