One of the stated future goals for Ricky Bell is pushing the boundaries of new hard trad routes in Ireland and this summer the 27-year-old came up trumps by freeing his The Rathlin Effect at Fairhead, a trad area with over 360 routes on the wild NE corner of Ireland now graded.

The Rathlin Effect climbs the beautiful prow of the Rathlin Wall at E8 6c and is "without doubt the coolest line I've opened in Ireland." Check out the video below which does some justice to the trad climbing on offer in Ireland.
