American boulderer Paul Robinson has just carried out the first ascent of his Il Trill 8c at one of Switzerland's finest bouldering areas, the Magic Wood. Robinson stumbled across the project a fortnight ago and lost little time to send the 10 move power trip through the steep cave.
Given his startling form - in May he established Lucid Dreaming V16/Fb8C+ at the Buttermilks - it would be interesting to find out what he thinks of Gioia at Varazze. Freed by Christian Core in March 2008, to-date this this beauty remains unrepeated.
