Kim Marschner finds Forgotten Gem at Chironico, repeats Crystal Ship at Cresciano

Kim Marschner is on an excellent run of form and recently the 24-year-old German climbed two 8C boulders to add to his previous tally of four. On 8 January he repeated Crystal Ship, the new "king line" at Cresciano in Switzerland put up in March 2021 by Giuliano Cameroni, while on 16 February Marschner grabbed the first ascent of Forgotten Gem at Chironico.

As the name suggests, this great little number had been attempted in the past by some of the very best but then fell into oblivion. Located right in the middle of world-class Chironico this is currently Marschner's hardest first ascent, completed at night and completely on his own.
