Jakob Schubert vs Es Pontas, the most difficult deep water solo on Mallorca
The video of Austrian climber Jakob Schubert repeating 'Es Pontas', the hardest deep water solo climb water on the island of Mallorca put up by Chris Sharma in 2006.
After the video of Jakob Schubert on Alasha, here's the fascinating film of his October 2021 ascent of Es Pontas, the hardest deep water solo on Mallorca. The fabulous arch was freed in 2006 by Chris Sharma and features a huge dyno in the middle that prior to Schubert's repeat had rejected everyone except for Slovenia's Jernej Kruder (2016) and Germany's Jan Hojer (2018). Success, even if you're called Schubert, can never be taken for granted and he had to dive in deep for this one.
