It’s Varazze season and recently Giorgia Tesio repeated Alphacentaury, a powerful 8A with a standing start. At the end of 2014 the young climber from Mondovì sent her first 8A+, Excalibur, and it would be fantastic to talk about Alphacentaury in the future, seeing that the sit-start is graded 8B and this would imply a massive leap forward as well as great joy.
Taling about joy - Daniel Woods and Dave Graham have travelled specifically from the USA to try Gioia, the mythical boulder freed by Christian Core in 2008 and the first impressions seem positive… we’ll see how things develop. In the meantime here’s the video of Tesio’s ascent, documented by Christian Core who is currently working hard at organising BluBloc, the bouldering meeting due to take place at Varazze on 25 April.
