The Frenchman François Legrand climbs "Ghetto Booty" 8c+/9a at Mount Charleston, Las Vegas

| François Legrand, after 17 days and two trips to America, has finally managed the first ascent of "Ghetto Booty" 8c+/9a (5.14c/d) at Mount Charleston, Las Vegas. Bolted originally by Joe Brooks and then left for François to try, the line takes the first section of "Ghetto Boys" before finishing direct up "Infectious Booty". Legrand had to file down his ring finger before succeeding on the crux, a dyno from a tiny monodoigt. His compatriot Liv Sansoz is currently visiting Mt. Charleston. A few days ago she redpointed "Soul train" 5.13d/8b and then clinched "Ghetto boys" and "Screaming target" second go. Both are graded 5.13c/8a+. Mt.
