Connor Herson makes third ascent of Crown Royale at Jøssingfjord in Norway
Recent news about a send that occurred back in August 2025: US climber Connor Herson repeated Crown Royale at Jøssingfjord in Norway. Located on the huge Profilveggen / Profile Wall, the route was established by England's Pete Whittaker in October 2023 and originally graded 9a, making it one of the hardest trad cracks in the world. Slovenia's Jernej Kruder made the first repeat in May 2025.
Herson made the third ascent on only his fourth attempt and, just like his predecessors, he untied towards the end of the 100m climb because of the rope drag and soloed to the top of the wall. The 22-year-old has suggested 8c+ for the climb, and success came a month after his first ascent of his hardest trad climb to date, The Drifter's Escape at Squamish in Canada.
