Christian Bindhammer sends "Wallstreet" (11-) via the Orginalvariantion

| After a somewhat under par performance in this year's Rock Master, Christian Bindhammer is back on form as usual. The German sent Wolfgang Güllich's classic "Wallstreet" 11- on 16.09.02 via what has become known as the "Orginalvariantion". He had tried the route about 5 times previously spread out over a four-year period, but had been unable to find a suitable solution for the technical ten move Fb8a crux. At the start of August things slid into place and, after a month-long wait due to competitions, sent the Frankenjura testpiece. "Wallstreet" has seen only ten ascents since it was first put up in 1987. Christian's list of hard redpoints this year is impressive to say the least. Frankenjura ascents include "Sundance Kid" 11- in August and the first repeat of "Geteiltes Leid" 11- in late spring. Stamina highlights include "Gambit" 8c/c+ (Schleier Wasserfälle) in May, "Andiamo" 8c+ (Rottachberg) in June and "Somebody is perfect" 8c/c+ (Bürs) in August. > news archive Bindhammer |
