I’ve been wanting to put pen to paper for a while now and talk about all the hard work that so many of us have put in during the last few years as we’ve explored and developed the bouldering potential around Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The boulders are located in the thick forest called Campo / Volpera and Mortisa, famous among climbers for the crags "Sasso dei Finanzieri" and "Campo e Volpera”. These little gems contain routes from 6a to 9a, published in the latest guidebook written by the Scoiattoli di Cortina together with "Idea Montagna”. First published last summer, it’s already due for a reprint.

The numerous boulders are scattered from north to south across the forest. The Dolomite rock offers plenty of holds but due to the vegetation requires plenty of cleaning.

In the pdf below there’s a small selection of the numerous problems cleaned and climbed by Virgilio Plumari, Carlo Savio, Walter Bachmann, Samuele Majoni and myself. Hopefully we’ll complete a new guidebook soon with all the problems, ideally we’ll do so in time for BRUSH CLIMBING 2017, the climbing meeting to which everyone is invited in order to enjoy all the bouldering around Cortina d’Ampezzo!
