2012 is certainly a stellar year for Argyro Papathanasiou: in February she managed to send her first 8a and now the 26-year-old celebrates Christmas a couple of days in advance by sending her first 8b, El Figot at Siurana in Spain. From 8a to 8b in a mere 10 months: this is an impressive sprint towards the upper grades and bodes well for the future of Grecce's strongest female climber.
