Saint-Ours II 6, M6 for Marlier, Chenal and M. Farina

Ezio Marlier, Francesca Chenal and Marco Farina have made the first ascent of "Saint-Ours" II 6, M6, at Fenille, Valsavarenche, Valle d'Aosta.
Italy's Valsavarenche in the limelight once again. This time it's thanks to the trio Ezio Marlier, Francesca Chenal and Marco Farina, who recently established "Saint-Ours" II 6, M6 at Fenille, in the Vallle D'Aosta. The route weaves its way 200m through the central buttress to the obvious snow slope above and is described by Marlier as "extremely exposed. Few ice climbs have impressed me this much because of the exposure, and "Saint-Ours" definitely falls into this category."

Fenille is slowly becoming a reference point for hard ice climbs in Valle D'Aosta. Just a few hundred meters below "Saint-Ours" lie "Coesion 0” II-7 (F.A. Marlier, Buccella), “Anoressica” II-5 (Marlier, Buccella, Moine), and numerous other routes of all grades.
