The Kazakhstan Expedition, currently climbing Kangchenjunga, has been successful for two days running. On 13 May Denis Urubko, Damir Molgachev, Vasily Pivtsov and Sergey Lavrov reached the 8586m high summit, and they were followed by Alexey Raspopov, Maxut Zhume Sergey Brodsky the next day. All seven members of the expedition reached the top, congratulations.

Denis Urubko is without a doubt the most well-known mountaineer in the group, having attempted Everest-Lhotse with Simone Moro, and successfully topped out on Everest, Lhotse, Hidden Peak and Gasherbrum II. All without supplementary oxygen, and three of these in 2001.
