26 expeditions from 2002 to present day. Gasherbrum II, Broad Peak, Dhaulagiri, Lhotse and Makalu, five of the highest mountains in the world, all without supplementary oxygen. Then an attempt on Ama Dablam in 2010 and the ensuing helicopter rescue that ended in tragedy, unfortunately in the deaths of the pilot and copilot Sabin Basnet and Puna Awale. An experience that changed his life, that gave him the responsibility to live not only his own life but also that of the pilots who had died. We’re talking about German mountaineer David Göttler who, after last year’s attempt to make the first winter ascent of Nanga Parbat together with Simone Moro, is now planning to climb a new route up Everest. To explore new terrain. Untouched ground.
