Come animali nella bolla dei temporali, new route up Corno Stella

This summer an Italian-German team comprised of Paolo "Maldi" Dalmasso, Christian Gaab, Toni Lamprecht, Uli Strunz and Benno Wagner made the first ascent of the difficult Wie die Tiere in der Donnerkugel up the beautiful NE Face of Corno Stella in the Italian Maritime Alps.

Lamprecht had been struck by a photo of the mountain last year and this summer, after having transported all the gear from the valley below, the group forged the 13 pitches which take a line to the left of the first route up the face, namely the 1932 Via Ellena (G. Ellena, E. Soria). The summit was reached on 14 August and all pitches were freed two days later, albeit not in a single day due to thunderstorms. Protected by bolts, according to the first ascentionists a set of nuts and small camming devices are necessary for a repeat.
