The first sixth grade climb in the Alps, circa 1200 m high, forged in a mere 15 hours on 7 August 1925. We’re obviously talking about the historic Solleder climb up the NW Face of Civetta, established by Emil Solleder and Gustav Lettenbauer and climbed in winter from 22 - 25 December by the French mountaineers Léo Billon, Max Bonniot and Benjamin Védrines. "Nothing particularly extreme" Bonniot ha told planetmountain.com after the ascent "but nevertheless a nice adventure in the Dolomites." Here’s the video documenting their repeat.
