Leonardo Gontero raced to the historic first-ever Italian victory in the Speed World Cup during the Arco Rock Master di Arco. Russia's Alina Gaydamakina won the women's event.

The first stage of the Lead World Cup 2011 was won by Jakob Schubert. Four women shared victory: Caroline Ciavaldini, Angela Eiter, Mina Markovic and Jain Kim.

The first stage of the Bouldering and Speed World Cup 2011 will take place from Thursday 14 - Sunday 17 April in Milan. 166 athletes from all over the world will travel to the enchaning Sempione Park for these four spectacular climbing days.

The sport climbing European Championships were held in Austria's Imst-Innsbruck last weekend. Ramón Julian Puigblanque and Angela Eiter won the Lead competition, Cedric Lachat and Anna Stöhr the Bouldering event, while sergey abdrakhmanov and Edyta Ropek won Speed.

The IFSC Climbing World Championships drew to a close on 05/07/2009 in Qinghai with Patxi Usobiaga Lakunza (ESP) and Johanna Ernst (AUT) winning the Lead. The Russians Alexey Rubtsov and Yulia Abramchuk won the Bouldering event, while Speed was won by the Chinese Qixin Zhong and Cuilian He.

On Saturday 25 April the second stage of the Speed Climbing World Cup was won by the Russians sergey abdrakhmanov and Anna Stenkovaya. Qixin Zhong from China set a new world record of 7"22.
