Bike for help from India to Switzerland

Christoph von Toggenburg’s journey from India to Switzerland to raise funds for leprosy begins
A few days ago Christoph von Toggenburg embarked upon his great journey to travel from India to Switzerland by mountain bike. Over a period of five months the 25 year old from Switzerland will cycle over 8500km across India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece and Italy, and document the entire journey on his website www.bikeforhelp.

The name “Bike for help” hasn’t been chosen by chance, for the main aim of this undertaking is to raise funds for Ciomal and the Gerhard Fischer Foundation, two charities involved in helping lepers in Asia.

Christoph is not new to initiatives of this sort: in 1996 he ran 260 km across the Alps for his “Run for help”, where he succeeded in raising more than sFr. 50’000 for homeless children in Bucharest.

At present Christoph is visiting and working in various centers and hospitals in Cambodia and India to fully understand this disease. His great traverse will start on 1 January from New Delhi - we’ll be with him all the way.
