Christian Core and Sandrine Levet win the first European Bouldering Championship in Chamonix 2002

The European Championships 2002 get underway in Chamonix today

On Friday 5 July the second round of the X-adventure Raid Series gets underway between Les Arcs, Bourg St Maurice and Courmayeur.

Katrin Sedlymayer and Alexandre Chabot win the World Cup Difficulty 2002 in Lecco. This is the third victory in three years for the Frenchman

Results based on Qualification: the winner of the second World Cup Bouldering 2002 is therefore Malcom Smith (GBR), followed by Christian Core from Italy and Hiroshi Okano from Japan, third.

Lisa Rands wins the Bouldering World Cup at Lecco, ahead of Theroux and Levet.

Starting from Lecco, the Bouldering World Cup will include twelve finalists instead of eight. The rule amendment, made by the International Council for Competition, comes in the wake of last week's first stage held at Fiera di Primiero.
