Ice meetings in Argentière la Bessée (Fournel), France, Kandersteg, Switzerland and Valle di daone (Italy),plus the Ice Climbing World Cup 2008 calendar.

On 11/02 the third and final stage of the Ice Climbing World Cup took place in Busteni (Romania) and was won by Evgeny Krivosheitsev from the Ukraine and Jenny Lavarda from Italy.

On 03/02 Evgeny Kryvosheytsev and Jenny Lavarda won the second stage of the Ice World Cup 2007 in Saas Fee and in doing so also won the Ice Difficulty World Championships.

In a thrilling final Jenny Lavarda and Markus Bendler have won the first stage of the Ice Climbing World Cup 2007 in Valle di daone, Italy.

Markus Bendler (Aut), Mario Prinot (Ita), Alkexey Tomilov (Rus) and Albert Leichtfried (Aut) lead the provisional results.

From Friday 19 January to Sunday 21 January the most famous international ice climbing competition in the world, the Ice Master World Cup, will take place in Italy's Valle di daone.

At 14.15 on 20 December Harald Berger, the three times Ice Climbing World Champion, winner of numerous competitions and extremely talented rock climber, died beneath an immense quantity of ice which collapsed while he was climbing on the overhanging Eiskapelle cave close to Hintersee (Flachgau), Salzburg, Austria.

On 24 January Albert Leichtfried made the first ascent of "Illuminati", a 5 pitch mixed outing located in Val Lunga, close to Selva Gardena (South Tyrol) N. Italy . The 30 year old Austrian has put forward the impressive grade M11+/WI 6+.

On 28/01 at Spicak (Czech Republic) the second stage of the UIIA Ice Climbing World Cup was won by Simon Wandeler and Ines Papertahead of Markus Bendler (2), Harald Berger (3) and Ksenia Sdobnikova (2), Anna Torretta (3).

On 17/01/2006 Markus Bendler from Austria made the first asscent of "Hells Angels Paradise - Law and Order" located beneath the Maukspitze, St. Johann, Tyrol.
