From 12 - 27 October 2025 the Russian mountaineers Natalia Belyankina, Kirill Eizeman, Sergey Kondrashkin, Vitaly Shipilov and Andrey Vasilyev established a new route on the southwest face of Manaslu (8163m). The Russians climbed alpine style, without Sherpa support or supplementary oxygen. Anna Piunova reports.

French alpinists Benjamin Védrines and Nicolas Jean have made the coveted first ascent of jannu east (7,468m) in Nepal. The pair made their historic alpine-style ascent over a period of four days via the mountain's north face and summited on 15 October 2025.

On 26/09/2025 French alpinists Nicolas Jean and Benjamin Védrines made the first ascent of Anidesh Chuli (6808m) in Nepal. The pair climbed the mountain's North ridge in a single day, as acclimatisation for their main project, the huge East Face of Jannu.

Between 20 July and 9 September 2015 the Slovenian alpinists Anastasija Davidova and Matija Jošt - Matic made what are believed to be the first ascents of three previously unclimbed peaks in the India’s Raru valley: Khumchu Ri 6064m, Kun Long Ri 6058m and Ri Pok Te 6210m.
