Blagaj Climbing Festival 2025 in Bosnia and Herzegovina

From 22 - 28 September 2025 the historic town of Blagaj, just outside Mostar in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, will host the Blagaj Climbing Festival.

Set against dramatic limestone cliffs and beside one of Europe’s largest karst springs, Blagaj offers world-class climbing in a region still largely undiscovered by the international climbing community. With over 200 sport routes and endless development potential, it’s an emerging gem for limestone lovers. The festival brings together climbers, route developers, and adventure seekers from across Europe and beyond, blending outdoor culture, local heritage, and a strong community spirit.

Set the foot of ancient cliffs above the Buna River, this is not just a festival – it’s a gathering place for energetic people, surrounded by natural beauty and filled with various activities, laughter, and fun. In previous years, the festival has welcomed over 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries worldwide. This is proof that the festival holds a place on the global climbing event map.

The event offers a variety of activities that combine sport, culture, entertainment, and promote a healthy lifestyle. None of our events would be possible without the volunteer work of the local community, which is the very heart of the festival.

Blagaj, a small community rich in cultural and historical heritage, has tremendous climbing potential and has become increasingly popular internationally over the last decade. The festival has further enhanced tje climbing area and contributed to the development of sport climbing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
