The Youth World Climbing Championship gets underway in Imst, Austria today
The Youth World Climbing Championship gets underway today at the Climbing Hall in Imst, Austria.

As usual the Difficulty and Speed competition is divided into three categories: Junior ('81 - '82), Youth A ('83 - '84) and Youth B ('85 - '86).

Italian hopes of victory in the Youth A category are high as Jenni Lavarda, the defending Italian Champion, placed first in last week's European Cup, held at Imst.

The final stage of the European Cup will take place next weekend at Arco, Italy.
