Intense heat marked the start of the Women's World Cup in Lecco

Sahara-like temperatures accompanied the start of the Women's World Cup in Lecco, which, despite the heat, ran smoothly. No great surprises, with all the best , apart from Natalia Perlova, qualifying for this evening's final. The finalists are:
