The Climbing World Championship 2001 started yesterday in Winterthur, Switzerland.
The Climbing World Championship started yesterday in Winterthur, Switzerland. This long-awaited event takes place once every two years and naturally (almost) all the world’s best competed in yesterday’s first round qualifications for both the Difficulty and Speed events.

Bouldering
is included as a World Championship event for the first time ever. Fresh from the World Cup in Rovereto, the comp started at 10.00 today, while the Difficulty semi-finals start this evening for both the Men and Women.

The Finals for all three events take place tomorrow, starting with the Bouldering event, and followed by the Speed and Difficulty events respectively.
