Valle di Daone Italian Championship

The second Italian Championship will be held in Valle di Daone on 5-6 January 2002
Valle di Daone is increasingly becoming a reference point for Ice Climbing competitions, both on a national and international level. After last year’s success the valley will once again host a World Cup stage in mid-January, and this will now be preceded by the one-off Italian Championship on 5-6 January.

Work is already well underway on the futuristic ice structure and the organisers are confident that the new competition formula, similar to a knock-out bouldering contest, will prove highly spectacular. Last year’s Italian Champions Erik Svab and Sabrina Bazzanella will be there to defend their titles – whatever the result, the competition will be a fitting prelude to the Ice World Cup in Italy.
