| The Frenchman Sebastien Foissac and the Italian Attilio Munari have recently qualified to become international Ice World Cup routesetters. Together with the three new judges Irina Ryzhenkova (RUS), Andrej and Jasna Pacjak (SLO) they completed a four-day course in Italy's Valle di Daone. The course, the first of its kind and organised by the Committee Pareti di cristallo, was led by the President of the ICCIC Michael Boss, and taught by Sam Beaugey and Erwan Lelann, two of the most experienced route setters on the IWC circuit. Preparations are currently well under way in the small Italian valley for the second stage of the World Cup, scheduled for 16-19 January. As usual, the twisted ce structure will not cease to amaze. Designed by Maurizio Gallo for the third year running, this structure is the only stage that hosts the ice-boulder event.
