This morning at 6.30 a.m the XXIII Mezzalama Trophy got underway. 206 teams of three set off from Breuil-Cervinia for this extraordinary traverse across the Monte Rosa massif. The 45-kilometer route tackles a total elevation gain of 3272 meters and three fourthousanders: Castor (4126m), Naso dei Lyskamm and Roccia della Scoperta, Entdeckungsfels (4177m).
