Cristoph Hainz wins for sixth year running ahead of Leonardo Di Marino and Massimo Bal
The sixth International UIAGM Mountain Guides Championship took place on one of the largest indoor climbing walls in Munich on 14-15 October. Entrants from Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland competed on routes set by Stefan Fürst, and the competition was won, for the sixth year running, by the Italian Cristoph Hainz.On Saturday the Mountain Guides, divided according to age into 5 categories, competed on 3 routes and all qualified for Sunday's Semi-final. This narrowed the field further for the two on-sight routes for the Final. Cristoph Hainz won the competition just ahead of the other Italians Leonardo Di Marino and Massimo Bal, joint second-equal. In the Final Hainz managed to dyno through a bouldery crux and touch a hold, while both Di Marino and Bal failed to touch it. |
