The best young European climbers will compete in the second stage of the European Youth Cup in Aprica, Italy next weekend

The second stage of the European Youth Cup will take place in Aprica, Italy this weekend. The first stage was held in Imst, Austria in June and the third and final stage will be held in December in Kranj, Slovenia.

Over 150 entrants are expected to participate in three categories: Junior ('81 - '82); Youth A ('83 -'84) and Youth B ('85 - '86).

Casper Ten Sijthoff from Holland and Carole Petrignet from France currently lead the Juniors, Barbara Schranz from Austria and Cédric Lachat from Switzerland lead Youth A, while Lucie Rajfova from Slovakia and Jorg Verhoeven from Holland lead Youth B.
