"It was almost like I’d put myself into this state of hypnosis, or deep meditation, it was an incredible feeling, I couldn’t believe it, I’ve never wanted a route so badly in my life…" Ben Moon recalls his recent ascent of the the 9a Rainshadow at Malham Cove. Here’s the footage of the awesome redpoint taken by Ben Pritchard. For the record, the first section to the roof, which appears easy, is in fact a rock solid 8a, Raindogs, while the extension that gives the route its 9a grade was added by Steve McClure in 2003.
