In 2018 and 2019 Spanish rock climber Edu Marin created what can only be regarded as one of the hardest and most overhanging multi-pitch rock climbs in the world. Called Valhalla, the 380m route first climbs up, then diagonally through, the huge Grand Arch at Getu in China and was first ascended with the help of Edu’s father Francisco "Novato" and his brother Álex.

The technical difficulties settle in at 9a+ and although the first free ascent obviously marked the culmination of their combined efforts, it is the entire process that really left its mark. Their toils and troubles are documented in the film Valhalla, cielo de roca, which will make the worldwide premiere on 2 October, for 48 hours only. Tickets are available at www.edumarin.es for those interested, while the trailer is online now.
