33-year-old British climber Tom Bolger has managed to add yet another desperate to Margalef with his first free ascent of Frenesí at Margalef. Located in the huge Espadelles sector, the route was originally bolted by Frenchman Quentin Chastagnier but soon abandoned despite the incredible number of top climbers who regularly visit the area.

Bolger, who actually lives in a small village close to Margalef, resuscitated the line which now goes free at 9a/+, and this is his second new route of this grade this year after establishing Wild West in the same sector in early Janaury.

In October 2020 Bolger repeated the famous Víctima Perfecta 9a and Gancho Perfecto 9a+, both located in the awe-inspiring Raco de la Finestra sector, and now has his sights set on harder still. "This year hopefully I will be able to push this up a notch as I feel I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been."
