Stefano Ghisolfi repeats 'Sleeping Lion' (9b) at Siurana
Italian climber Stefano Ghisolfi has made the 4th ascent ‘Sleeping Lion' at Siurana in Spain. This 9b was established by Chris Sharma in March 2023.

Stefano Ghisolfi attempting 'Sleeping Lion' (9b+) at Siurana in Spain

After attempting it briefly in November 2023, earlier today Italy’s Stefano Ghisolfi repeated Sleeping Lion at Siurana in Spain. Put up by Chris Sharma in March 2023, this veritable king line was repeated by Alex Megos in January 2024, while Jorge Díaz-Rullo of Spain followed suit a month later.
Ghisolfi needed about 10 days for the send, and was successful after having fallen off the upper crux three times. This is Ghisolfi’s second 9b this trip to Spain, after sending The Full Journey at Margalef in mid-February.
