Fresh from his summer first ascent success on Attimo 9a at Covolo, young Italian Silvio Reffo has now checked in with the first repeat of Il Frutto del Diavolo - the fruit of the devil - at one of Italy's premier hotspots, the crag Bus de Vela.
Freed by Gabriele Moroni in 2010, this superb line is marked by a series of difficult boulder cruxes followed by fairly decent rests and the route resisted a mere 7 attempts prior to Reffo's redpoint. This follows a series of other fast Moroni repeats, such as Bella Regis 8c/c+ featured in the video below. For a full report about yesterday's climb check out Reffo's blog.
